In June 2011 Coplan Estates, the mixed use regeneration specialists, and Denne, part of the Leadbitter Group and Kent’s largest contractor, were selected as preferred development partner by Bedford Borough Council for the £50m mixed use redevelopment of a key council owned site riverside site within the heart of Bedford. This followed a competitive tendering process.

A Public Consultation exercise is planned for the 11th to the 13th of April at the Hapur Suite, on Harpur Street, and this will provide Coplan and Denne with the opportunity to understand the general public's views on the proposals / ideas. The information displayed on this exibition is inculded within the web site. This website, owned by Coplan Estates and Denne, working in partnership with Bedford Borough Council, will be up-dated regularly to keep you in touch with progress on the development.

Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, added: “It is important that local residents are involved from the start in helping to create this exciting new development for Bedford, and this event gives a great opportunity at an early stage for people to have their say on what we want for Bedford from the scheme.

“To have this important regeneration taking place even in these tough times will be very exciting and I hope lots of people take the chance to help shape a superb new development for Bedford town centre on the riverside.”
